
About Herefords
The Hereford breed originates from Herefordshire, England where farmers needed a high quality beef cattle to respond to a growing demand for quality beef. Hereford cattle was later brought to the United States in 1817 by a Kentucky farmer, Henry Clay, to meet the growing demand for beef in the United States.
Hereford cattle are recognized world wide as a versatile cattle stock that can well serve in multiple roles, such as a dairy herd, terminal sire or suckler cow. This hardy breed has a rich history of consistency, good fertility and easy calving, making Herefords a cattle stock with longevity and value.
Herefords are known as the efficiency experts: this breed boosts pregnancy rates by 7% and add $30 per head in feedyard profitability in a crossbreeding system.
The docile, calm temperament of this breed make them easy to handle and tend to. This calm disposition results in lower stress levels, leading to a more productive herd. In our experience, this breed is easy to train and handle.
